Today our Over 50s played in the WFA NationalCup v Old Varndenians in a thriller from start to finish. Worthing dominanted the first 25 mins and creating numerous chances but were either denied by excellent goalkeeping or by the woodwork. Peter Knee, in his first game in charge for Worthing 50+ made a couple changes but this only spurred Varndenians on who started to create chances but Matt Pettman the 50's keeper was up to the challenge. Both sides continued to create chances but the game ended 0-0 and went to penalties. As you can see in the video that too was a nail biter also.Unfortunately it was Old Varndenians who came out on top. We can be proud of the Worthing lads who gave everything and were so unlucky not to progress.
