At a very wet Woodside Road, Worthing F.C Seniors Reds over 50s entertained Hurstpierpoint who the previous week had beat our Whites 4-0.
Reds kicked off and within 30 secs gave the ball away with an under-hit back pass leaving Hurst's striker free on goal to draw the keeper off his line shooting and hitting both posts before nestling in net 0-1.
Straight from kick off Reds went on the attack, Lee Smart smashing the ball in from out left 1-1.
The game stuttered along with the Reds giving the ball away far too easily and this led to Hurst restoring the lead as again Reds failed to pick men up 1-2.
This seemed to ignite the Reds game and with 5 minutes Pete Stone drew us level as he fired in unopposed 2-2.
The Reds were now dominating precedings with Pete Stone turning and scoring with ease 3-2.
From kick off Worthing regained possession and a quick set of passes gave Lee Smart an opportunity to score and he duly obliged 4-2
Half time.
Peter Knee made a change so into 2nd half and Reds started to stamp their authority on the game with Pete Stone and Lee Smart both bagging their hat tricks.
It just remained for Dave Pearson to complete the rout 7-2.
Not the Reds best performance but a solid win against a dogged side.
Congratulations to all involved.
