Today saw our Over 60s Blacks play at the Worthing Leisure Centre against Rottingdean in the SCWFL. Rottingdean being the only team to score against them in the 1st game of season so the Blacks were determined to chalk up their 6th Clean sheet in a row.
The Blacks were off to a slow start however, after 10 minutes, Neil Flockton opened the scoring after a sweeping move which was closely followed by an Ade Cooper goal to double the score.
The Blacks were now in full flow with their passing game and were awarded a penalty after a Rottingdean player entered the box. John Ling made no mistake from the spot.
3-0
John the doubled his tally when he scored his 3rd on the stroke of half time.
HT 4-0.
Blacks made a change at half time with Mark Ellis replacing Neil Flockton and it paid off within 5 minutes with Mark Ellis scoring a screamer into the corner.
5-0
John followed this up shortly after to register his hat-trick.
6-0
2 more changes were made with just 8 minutes to go with Neil and Andy replacing Ade and John respectively.
At this point Rottingdean had some decent possession and a couple of terrific chances that Pete Bow superbly saved to maintain that clean sheet.
Worthing recomposed themselves from their close shave and Neil broke away to double his tally.
7-0
In the dying minutes Andy completed the rout with a toe punt under the keeper to give our Blacks an 8-0 win and their 6th Clean sheet on the trot.
It's now been 4 hours since the Blacks have conceded a goal in the league.
Congratulations well played to everyone and a massive thank you to all the guys that came to watch.
