Over 50s through in WFA Nationals

Today saw our Over 50s play in the 2nd Round of the WFA NATIONAL CUP at home to Range Rovers who were an unknown quantity and turned out to be stiff opposition.

After a frantic first 10 minutes which saw them draw a couple of saves from the Worthing Seniors keeper and hitting the woodwork a couple of times, Worthing eventually got into their rhythm. The first goal came when Pete Stone was able to turn sharply just outside the D and fire into the right hand corner.

1-0 half time.

Worthing came our with a purpose in the second half and duly doubled their lead when Lee Smart converted a cross field pass from Neil Flockton.

Worthing continued to dominate until the last 5 mins when Range Rovers laid siege to the Worthing goal however our keeper and defence worked tirelessly to ensure the win.

Thank you to Richard Gander for Managing today.
